Glenn 50th Anniversary Dinner April 18 at School The Alumni Association of Glenn High School will have its sixth banquet on April 18 at the school. This marks the 50th year of the school, which was built in 1911, getting its commission in 1913 with its first graduates. They were George Klatte, Raymond McPherson, Mary Milner and Assa Kasameyer. The school had an enrollment in 1911 of 116, including elementary and high school grades. During the 50 years of the Glenn School, there have been approximately 1,417 graduates, many of whom made valuable contributions to mankind. Frank Shipley, a graduate of 1915, played a very important part in the development of the present-day telephone dial system. Keith Summers, a graduate of 1945, was set-designer on the Perry Como show. Richard Huggins, a graduate of 1947, designed the silverware for a new atomic passenger ship. Wright; Robert Wyatt, Vigo-White Co.; Richard Richmond, Richmond Elec.; Robert Stephens, grocer; Orville Jones, teacher; Wayne Coltharp, teacher; Robert Rector, teacher; LeRoy Fair, tax consultant; Clyde Ellis, Commercial Sol. Industrial Relations; Ronnie Adams-Pontiac; Ernest M. Wright, attorney; Robert Pease, head of production---Ethel Visqueen; Cecil Anderson, Ace Electronics, James Higham, teacher; Manfred Latta, teacher; Mary Latta, teacher; and Hildred Wills, teacher. The disappearance of Glenn High School from among the high schools of Vigo County should not cancel pleasant memories and it is with great anticipation that the 50th Anniversary of the school is being observed with a smorgasbord from 5:30 to 7 p.m. A program featuring members of the Alumni, the Honey Dreamers from Honey Creek school, and the usual business meeting conducted by president, Gene Johnson, is planned.
