SEELYVILLE John Calver Died at the Insane Hospital. Seelyville, Ind., July 27. (Gazette special) John Calvet, who was thrown from a horse in Jockey Alley at Terre Haute several weeks ago was brought home dead today from the insane hospital of Indianapolis. He leaves a wife and four children to mourn his loss. R. H. Modesitt was overcome by the heat Thursday, but is better now. The miners of this place will give a big picnic here day and night, Saturday, Aug. 3rd. Preparations are being made to entertain five thousand people. Mr. John Humphrey was buried here Tuesday. His father and one brother survive him. James Taylor and wife have been very sick but are on the mend now. Mrs. Lee Carmichael was in Terre Haute today on business. Mrs. R. W. Trile is very sick at this writing. Mrs. Ollie Carmichael, of this place, spent a few hours with her mother Thursday evening. All the cry is for rain. Grandma Tiley is very poorly. She has celebrated her 86th birthday. There will be preaching at the M. E. church Sunday evening. Mrs. Lola Aceres spent the evening with Mrs. Minnie Lehaghen Sunday. Mr. Harry Laughner's baby is slowly improving. Work is very poor here.
