Miss Ruth Lloyd was in Terre Haute Thursday. Mrs. Joseph Peel and Mr. and Mrs. Willie Peel of Clinton spent Saturday here with relatives. Bert Moore has returned to Petersburg after visiting relative here the past week. Mrs. Richard Moy was dinner guest Thursday of Mrs. harry Stanton of Terre Haute. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Ellwell and son, Jean, were Thursday guests of Mr. and Mrs. William Tallman of Glen Ayr. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Davis announced the birth of a son. A birthday dinner was given Bert Ellrod last Sunday in honor of his 28th birthday. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. William Tallman and daughter, Violet, of Glen Ayr; Mrs. Varnie Blan of Terre Haute; Miss Mary Ellrod of Terre Haute; Mr. and Mrs. Leon Ellrod of Glen Ayr; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Mann and children of Seelyville; Mr. and Mrs. Bert Ellrod and son, Jean. An enjoyable day was spent. Citizens of Seelyville were greatly surprised to hear of the marriage of James Modesitt of this place and Miss Phoebe Eggins of Terre Haute. The groom is 30 years old and the bride 54. Mr. Modesitt is a well-to-do business man here. Mr. Modesitt presented his blushing bride with a car.
