In the early days when the Indiana Furnace and the pork packing industries were running full time in Clinton Township, there was much rivalry and jealousy between the men employed at these two places. In front of the stable, a man named Jackson from the Indiana furnace district and a Mr. Foos who lived in clinton, met. For no apparent reason, these two men took off their coats and started fighting. a large crowd soon gathered to see the fight to a finish. this was the usual way of settling the frequent arguments between the two factions.
