James Winkler's transcribed variant of the Vanishing Hitchhiker urban legend as collected by Ralph Norman, Jr. In this account, a man picks up a young woman who is walking on the side of the road and gives her his coat to keep her warm. When he drops her off at home, he realizes that he did not get his coat back, so he returns to her home to retrieve. An older woman answers the door and informs the man the man that her daughter has been dead for many years. When the man visits the girl's grave, he finds his coat lying across it. |
