James Hodge's transcribed interview of Mary Ruby about gypsies. According to Ruby, a king called a gypsy woman and told her to find the most beautiful baby in the kingdom and give the baby a golden ball. The woman traveled all over the kingdom. When she came home she gave the ball to her own baby. The king asked if she couldn't find a prettier baby, and she told him that hers was the most beautiful to her. |
