Abstract |
Letter to Eugene V. Debs on LOCOMOTIVE AND FIREMEN ENGINEMEN'S MAGAZINE letterhead, 9/14/1916. Tells Eugene V. Debs that he would be glad to publish Eugene V. Debs's article titled "Publicity and the Income Tax." Mentions that he thought that everything that Eugene V. Debs said in the article was the "gospel truth." Assures Eugene V. Debs that he will also publish James Whitcomb Riley's poem about Eugene V. Debs. Mentions that it was gratifying for him to read about what the "boys" in Indianapolis, Indiana think of him. Says that he appreciated the autographed copy of "Labor and Freedom" that Eugene V. Debs sent. Informs Eugene V. Debs that he thinks the same "brutal tactics" will be used in the case against Carlo Tresca and the other strike leaders that were used in the William Haywood, Charles Moyer, and George Pettibone affair. |
