Abstract |
Letter to Theodore Debs, 04/07/1938. Says that he heard that a young communist named John Stuart plans on writing a book about Eugene V. Debs. Writes that he also heard that this communist plans on turning Eugene V. Debs in a "sissy unaware of how he was being handled by a clique" of clever politicians like Victor Berger and Morris Hillquit. Expresses the hope that Theodore Debs will tell him about anyone proposing to write a biography of Eugene V. Debs so that the person can be investigated. Remarks that there is some trouble with the American Labor Party since their leadership comes mainly out of the needle trades unions. |
