Abstract |
Photocopy of letter to John D. Heinl, 2/20/45. Writes that he spent the first 9 months of the war in the army trying to defend his family's land. Says that after his service he went to Paris, France to tend to his business. Tells Heinl that Alsace has been freed from German control. Remarks that his parents stayed in Alsace during the war resisting the Germans. Informs Heinl that his father, Paul Koenig, is still alive and in good health. Mentions that last week his father met a American officer whose mother-in-law knew Emily Debs Mailoux. |
