Notes |
Appeal to Reason was a weekly socialist newspaper that was founded in Kansas City, Missouri in 1895 by Julius Augustus Wayland. While not officially connected with the Socialist Party of the United States of America, it spread socialist ideas and was very popular among the workers. Eugene V. Debs was a regular contributor to this publication. The Appeal to Reason ceased publication in November 1922, and was replaced by its new owners, Emanuel and Marcet Haldeman-Julius, with the Haldeman-Julius Weekly. |
