Abstract |
Letter to Eugene V. Debs, 8/11/12. Writes that having a referendum on the J. Mahlon Barnes matter is a "fraud" and an "outrage." Tells Eugene V. Debs that the only reason the referendum went through is because many of the comrades thought Eugene V. Debs advised it. Mentions that what Eugene V. Debs said in his letter dated 7/29/12 about Jane Keep, Mother Jones, Jim Brower, and the others does not affect him very much. Says that Mother Jones "has nothing but vile language for almost every well known worker in the movement, particularly the woman comrades." Mentions that Mother Jones is the only woman whom he has ever bought whiskey for. Informs Eugene V. Debs that the "heart has been taken out of the campaign" for him. |
