Abstract |
Letter to Theodore Debs on TRUTH letterhead, 05/08/1918. Says that the Commercial Club is doing its "damdest... to stop our advertising." Writes that while he may not entirely agree with the Industrial Workers of the World's politics, he thinks its members' Constitutional rights need to be upheld. Tells Debs that he is afraid that "some gunman or thug" will go after him for airing his views. Writes that he had an interview with the Department of Justice where "they tried to scare" him. Says that socialism is finally coming into its own. |
