Abstract |
Letter to Theodore Debs, 10/23/1926. Says that he is sending Theodore Debs a clipping from the LONDON EVENING STANDARD reporting the death of Eugene V. Debs. Mentions that the article was written by Tom Mann. Writes that although he was shocked to hear of Eugene V. Debs' death he was not surprised since Eugene V. Debs had been so ill. Assures Theodore Debs that Eugene V. Debs was "one of the most outstanding and magnificent champions of the inalienable rights of freedom of speech, thought, and conscience." Says that like Karl Marx, Jack London, Keir Hardie, Eugene V. Debs died working for a minority movement that was the source of all progress. Informs Theodore Debs that he never met a propagandist equal to Eugene V. Debs. |
