Abstract |
Copy of letter to Florence Crawford, 02/11/1941. Says that he is becoming more and more interested in the life of Eugene V. Debs. Remarks that Eugene V. Debs is beginning to emerge as one of American history's really important figures. Tells Crawford that he is leaving for New York City, New York with the completed manuscript of CLARENCE DARROW FOR THE DEFENSE later in the week. Mentions that after spending a couple of months in New York City, New York that he plans coming to Terre Haute, Indiana to investigate the possibilities of writing a biography of Eugene V. Debs' life. Says that while he is in Terre Haute, Indiana that he plans on visiting with Theodore Debs, Oscar Bauer, and J. R. Shannon. Asks that Crawford tell him the names of Eugene V. Debs' closest friends. Informs Crawford that he would be glad to give a lecture at the library while he is in Terre Haute, Indiana. |
