Letter to Eugene V. Debs, 08/14/1921. Says that she sent Theodore Debs a copy of the letter she mailed to Harry Daugherty and the President. Writes that she has Mahatma Gandhi on the brain. Remarks that John Haynes Holmes recently spoke about Mahatma Gandhi. Mentions that John Haynes Holmes said that Eugene V. Debs was the only American great enough to be spoken of in the same breath as Mahatma Gandhi. Tells Eugene V. Debs that things are terrible in Russia. |
