Letter to Marguerite Debs Cooper, 02/20/1948. Writes that he is glad that his story "Christmas Present" brought Marguerite Debs Cooper and Gertrude Debs joy. Says that he is sorry to hear that Eugene V. Debs' house was sold. Tells Cooper that he received a clipping from the PITTSBURGH PRESS today saying that ADVERSARY IN THE HOUSE was one of the best novels of 1947. Asks that Cooper not be hurt by August Claessens' review. |
