Stone, Irving; 1947-12-014 |
Abstract |
Copy of letter from Marguerite Debs Cooper, 12/14/1947. Says that she received the letters Stone sent regarding the purchasing of Eugene V. Debs' home for a memorial. Tells Stone that with all of the social unrest in the world it might not be the best time to attempt such an undertaking. Remarks that she is not surprised that Stone has not heard from Mrs. Hulman because she comes from a family of millionaires who want nothing to do with labor, socialism, or Eugene V. Debs. Informs Stone that she has again wrote to Doubleday asking for her photographs back. Mentions that she heard from Lena Morrow Lewis last week who related stories she heard about ADVERSARY IN THE HOUSE in New York City, New York. |
