Abstract |
Letter to Theodore Debs on Debs Commemoration Dinner letterhead, 09/29/1933. Expresses the hope that Theodore Debs's health has improved since the last time that he wrote him. Says that he is writing to invite Theodore Debs to attend an Eugene V. Debs memorial meeting in Chicago, Illinois. Asks that Theodore Debs give a short talk at the dinner. Remarks that he hopes this dinner and others like it being held across the country could be used to "reinstill the spirit of Debs in the workers who have dropped away from Socialism." Mentions that there might a nation-wide radio broadcast by Norman Thomas on the night of the dinner. |
