Abstract	Copy of letter to V. R. M'Millan on American Civil Liberties Union letterhead, 1/17/1925. Writes that he has been informed of the American Legion's resolution criticizing him for speaking at the Open Forum at the First Congregational Church of Terre Haute, Indiana because he was a conscientious objector during the war. Informs M'Millan that free speech is one of America's most cherished traditions. Says that "suppression and censorship are the autocratic weapons of tyrants."
