Abstract
Letter
to
Theodore
Debs
,
11/27/1913
.
Says
that she would
like
to
thank
Theodore
Debs
for the
kind
letters
since
that her
sent
her
after
her
bad
experience
in
Littleton
,
Colorado
with her
son-in-law
.
Writes
that she
does
not
remember
if she
told
Theodore
Debs
that she was
arrested
by her
son-in-law
for
disturbing
the
peace
after
she
went
up
to him to
ask
if he had
hired
a
nurse
to
take
care
of her
daughter
and her
new-born
grand-daughter
.
Mentions
that she was
found
guilty
of
disturbing
the
peace
and
fined
$5
.
Tells
Theodore
Debs
that a
week
later
her
daughter
was
rushed
to
St
.
Luke's
Hospital
in
Denver
,
Colorado
to have an
emergency
operation
.
Writes
that his
son-in-law
has
terrorized
his
daughter
by
behaving
like
a "
maniac
or a
demon.
"
Says
that she
is
not a
welcome
visitor
in his
home
.
Mentions
that she would
like
to
kill
her
son-in-law
but that she
does
not
know
how
it
would
affect
her
daughter
.
Assures
Theodore
Debs
that
Eugene
V
.
Debs's
visit
uplifted
her
spirit
wonderfully
.
Tells
Theodore
Debs
that
Eugene
V
.
Debs
is
an
inspiration
to her.
Mentions
that her
heart
goes
out
to the
striking
miners
in
Denver
,
Colorado
.
Tells
Theodore
Debs
that the
situation
is
probably
much
worse
in
West
Virginia
.
Writes
that she
sees
Eugene
V
.
Debs
and
Myron
Reed
as the
modern
teachers
of
religion
.
Informs
Theodore
Debs
that
while
patriotism
is
now
seen
as a
virtue
that
one
day
it
will be
equated
with
bigotry
.
