Abstract	Letter to Eugene V. Debs, 12/5/1921. Says that he wishes Eugene V. Debs's fellow comrades imprisoned in the Federal Penitentiary in Atlanta, Georgia to know that he sympathizes with them. Writes that if it were not for the hypocrisy with which the Constitution is applied to the American people that they would not be in prison. Mentions that in Moline Township, Illinois he organized the first local of the International Union, he helped to organize a cooperative grocery store and was subsequently elected its first president, and served as a Master Workman of the local chapter of the Knights of Labor. Says that he left Moline Township, Illinois in 1883 because he was blacklisted as a molder. Tells Eugene V. Debs that after being blacklisted he came to San Francisco, California and has been there ever since. Mentions that he was interviewed by the chief of the Secret Service and that he was congratulated on his patriotism. Writes that international socialism is the only panacea for complete happiness. Tells Eugene V. Debs that he walked with the Chinese on Labor Day.
