Abstract	Letter to Eugene V. Debs on Socialist Party National Office letterhead, 5/20/26. Writes that he knows that Eugene V. Debs did not want to be re-elected to the National Executive Committee but that he was out of the room at the time the vote was taken on that issue. Says that he hopes that Eugene V. Debs will let his name stand on the list of members of the National Executive Committee. Mentions that he understands that because of Eugene V. Debs' health he would not be able to be very active in National Executive Committee's affairs but says that his name is just as important as his activities. Tells Eugene V. Debs that he notes what he says about the way in which the Socialist Party handles its affairs. Mentions that he is working on disconnecting himself from the running of the Socialist Party as a result. Tells Eugene V. Debs that his work with the Socialist Party made it possible for him not to prostitute his intellect. Informs Eugene V. Debs that he has found it impossible to find ways for the Socialist Party to get funds, except through the donations given by the JEWISH DAILY FORWARD. Mentions that the AMERICAN APPEAL is need of financial help to keep afloat.

Notes	The American Appeal was an official publication of the Socialist Party of America, and was produced weekly in New York City from 1926 until 1927, when it merged into The New Leader. The New Leader continued on in print until 2007, when it became an exclusively online publication. The Jewish Daily Forward was a New York-based Yiddish language daily that was loosely affiliated with the Socialist Party of the United States of America. Edited by Abraham Cahan, it launched in 1897 and reached its peak circulation in the 1930's of 275,000. It became known as the voice of the Jewish immigrant and the conscience of the ghetto. Well known Jewish authors such as Isaac Bashevis Singer regularly contributed to the paper, which still exists today and is available in an online format.
