Abstract	Letter to Theodore Debs, 11/23/26. Tells Theodore Debs that he did not expect him to reply to his letter, especially while he is still grieving for the loss of his brother. Mentions that he marvels at Theodore Debs's "spiritual poise." Says that he appreciated George Kirkpatrick's article in the Eugene V. Debs memorial issue of the AMERICAN APPEAL. Writes that he missed Eugene V. Debs' funerals because he was in intense agony from his incurable ulcers. Assures Theodore Debs that he appreciated the memorial issue of the NEW LEADER that Theodore Debs sent. States that there should a national memorial to Eugene V. Debs erected in the form of a library.

Notes	The American Appeal was an official publication of the Socialist Party of America, and was produced weekly in New York City from 1926 until 1927, when it merged into The New Leader. The New Leader continued on in print until 2007, when it became an exclusively online publication. The New Leader made its first appearance in January of 1924 as a six column standard size weekly newspaper. It was begun by a group of figures associated with the Socialist Party of America, one of them being Eugene V. Debs. He was also a regular contributor to the paper. The New Leader became a bimonthly oline newspaper in January of 2007.
