publication
of the
Socialist
Party
of
America
, and was
produced
weekly
in
New
York
City
from
1926
until
1927
,
when
it
merged
into The
New
Leader
. The
New
Leader
continued
on in
print
until
2007
,
when
it
became
an
exclusively
online
publication
. The
New
Leader
made
its
first
appearance
in
January
of
1924
as a
six
column
standard
size
weekly
newspaper
.
It
was
begun
by a
group
of
figures
associated
with the
Socialist
Party
of
America
,
one
of them
being
Eugene
V
.
Debs
. He was also a
regular
contributor
to the
paper
. The
New
Leader
became
a
bimonthly
oline
newspaper
in
January
of
2007
.
