Sunday
World
was a
New
York
paper
purchased
by
Joseph
Pulitzer
in
1883
.
It
was a
daily
publication
that was
founded
in
1860
and
ceased
in
1931
.
Although
it
was
considered
by
some
to be "
yellow
journalism
", and was
accused
of
being
sensational
in its
depiction
of the
news
, the
paper
published
exposes
about
subjects
such
as
tenement
abuses
and the
Ku
Klux
Klan
.
It
also
founded
the
annual
reference
book
entitled
the
World
Almanac
.
