Abstract	Letter to Marguerite Debs Cooper, 11/07/1951. Writes that he is sending Cooper and Gertrude Debs a copy of his new book THE PRESIDENT'S LADY. Says that the book is selling well and has been favorably received by almost everyone but Fanny Butcher. Tells Cooper that he has given a couple of young theatrical press agents permission to make a play out of ADVERSARY IN THE HOUSE. Says that these press agents has gotten Margo Jones to recommend a dramatist. Mentions that Frederic March, Florence Eldridge, Paul Douglas, and Jan Sterling are all very interested in seeing the play produced. Writes that if a deal is made out of this proposal that he will turn over some of the royalties to Cooper to use at her discretion. Tells Cooper that he always thought that it would be nice to have a scholarship fund named after Eugene V. Debs and Theodore Debs. Remarks that he thinks that a play about Eugene V. Debs could help to carry on the cause to which Eugene V. Debs and Theodore Debs dedicated their lives.
