Abstract	Copy of letter from Marguerite Debs Cooper, 08/14/1947. Writes that she is glad to learn that the Socialist Party fund raiser thought that it would be easy to obtain the money necessary to purchase Eugene V. Debs' home. Says that Eugene V. Debs told Theodore Debs that he wanted his house to go to the Socialist Party when he died. Assures Stone that none of Katherine Debs' money went into Eugene V. Debs' home. Remarks that she will be sending Doubleday some photos of Theodore Debs and his family. Tells Stone that she read the DOUBLEDAY BOOK NEWS with great interest. Expresses the hope that the professional book estimator is wrong about ADVERSARY IN THE HOUSE not being as likely to be popular as LUST FOR LIFE OR IMMORTAL WIFE. Says that she has unpacked the crate of Eugene V. Debs' papers. Remarks that everything came back okay except for 2 scrapbooks.
