Abstract	Letter to Theodore Debs, 05/10/1926. Says that John Haynes Holmes gave a sermon yesterday where he stated that the 3 men who lived up to his religious ideals were Luther Burbank, Clarence Darrow, and Eugene V. Debs. Remarks that John Haynes Holmes referred to the fundamentalist churches of the South as "wicked if not vicious" in his sermon. Tells Theodore Debs that she and a friend attended a church in Harlem, New York last night to get a taste of a fundamentalist service. Writes that she wished that every American could get to know and understand the "new Negro."
