1915-07-25
Abstract
Copy
of
letter
from
Eugene
V
.
Debs
,
07/25/1915
.
Says
that
while
he
does
not
meddle
in
local
affairs
he would
like
to
give
his
views
regarding
the
situation
in
California
.
Writes
that
Williams
statement
to the
comrades
of
California
has his "
unqualified
endorsement.
"
Remarks
that the "
Bullmoosers
"
must
be "
laughing
in their
sleeves
" at
Williams
'
uncomfortable
situation
.
Assures
Williams
that if the
socialists
of
California
fight
over
this
matter
they will be
playing
into the
hands
of the
Bullmoosers
.
Says
that the
comrades
of
California
must
ignore
section
3
article
10
of the
Socialist
Party's
constitution
for the
present
.
Tells
Williams
that if
comrades
were
expelled
for
following
disobeying
section
3
article
10
the
Socialist
Party
would be
nothing
more
than a
sect
in
California
.
Writes
that he
is
opposed
to
expelling
members
from the
Socialist
Party
.
Informs
Williams
that
no
seasoned
socialist
would
vote
the
capitalist
ticket
.
Says
that he would
work
to
educate
those
who
are
still
new
to the
Socialist
Party
"and
do
not
yet
understand
why
it
is
absolutely
necessary
to
draw
so
sharp
a
line
between
the
Socialist
party
and
all
capitalist
parties.
"
Tells
Williams
that "
it
is
better
to
educate
than to
expel.
