Abstract	Letter to Eugene V. Debs, 01/17/1913. Writes that he read yesterday of Eugene V. Debs's arrest. Says that "demented capitalism" is rushing madly to perdition. Tells Eugene V. Debs that wherever he is that his heart goes with him. Remarks that he thinks that the fabric of America's banking system is collapsing because of greater and greater "trustification." Writes that the real issue during the last Presidential election was socialism or general bankruptcy. Informs Eugene V. Debs that he wished that the Socialist Party had emphasized the financial situation more in the last election. Tells Eugene V. Debs that he is working on a pamphlet about America's financial situation and show how more and more wealth is being concentrated into fewer and fewer hands.
