General John Morgan Marker
In 1924, the Ripley County Historical Society erected the market signifiying the route for General John Morgan's Raid throughout Southern Indiana on Sunday, July 12, 1863. This is located in front of the Ripley County courthouse in Versailles, Indiana.
Morgan’s Raid State Historical Marker
Marker noting the activities of Confederate General John Hunt Morgan, who occupied Versailles, Indiana on the afternoon of July 12, 1863. Morgan's troops seized the county treasury, and he moved North at 4:00 pm as Union forces began to close in upon him.
Ripley County Veterans Memorial
The center panel reads: "In Honor of all Veterans of Military Service and dedicated to the men and women of Ripley County who served their Country so unselfishly in times of war and in times of peace." This Veterans Memorial is located in front of the Ripley County courthouse in Versailles, Indiana.
